The Work

After reading Oliver Burkeman’s Four Thousand Weeks, I found myself thinking about time in a new way.

Building on themes I’d explored in my course on time in popular fiction and media, I wrote this Substack post to reflect on how these concepts relate to the world around me and my personal experiences.

The Skills

This essay demonstrates my ability to identify and analyze thematic depth in visual and narrative storytelling, using close reading of symbolic imagery and metaphor to explore how stories convey universal human experiences.

Through reflective analysis, I synthesize cultural texts, philosophical concepts, and personal perspectives to examine how narratives create emotional resonance and meaning. The work reflects strong interpretive skills, an understanding of how audiences connect with stories across different media, and my genuine curiosity about artistic choice and people’s emotional and intellectual connections to art.
